Our PreSchool

Deborah Messinger School of Dance has been in Gresham for 40+ years. Nine years ago, we added an Academic Pre-School in the same building called the Rising Stars Pre-School.

At Risings Stars, we understand that children learn best by being engaged. Whether its your child’s 1st pre-school experience or preparing for Kindergarten, curriculum is designed to set a foundation for success.  Through a variety of experiences, children will develop valuable skills. 

Academically, we focus on: Letter recognition & sounds, number recognition, counting, days of the week, months of the year, writing & pre-reading, basic science concepts, music & movement concepts and LOTS OF IMAGINATION & CREATIVITY.

Socially, we focus on: respect of others & their property, building friendships, using our “words”, basic problem solving.

There’s play/open gym time to work on gross motor skills as well as teacher-led creative movement activities and tumbling. 

We focus on building their self-confidence and a positive self-image. They use their energy & talents in an active, fun atmosphere to enhance their individuality.
